INT. SMALL TOWN DINER - DAY
FRANK, a middle aged man of average height, enters the diner. People sit along the front counter. ROGER, a tall gray-haired man reads at a table. JILL, a waitress, approaches Frank.
JILL
Morning, Frank. What’ll it be today?
FRANK
Won’t be in long today, Jill. I’ll just have some coffee.
JILL
Okay. Sit yourself wherever you’d like and I’ll get that for you right away.
Frank walks to Roger’s table and sits down. Roger reads.
FRANK
Morning, Roger. You don’t mind if I sit? How are things?
ROGER
Things are fine. What do you need, Frank?
FRANK
Roger, your brother says my last three house payments never came in. Says I’ll lose my house.
ROGER
Is that so?
FRANK
But I know I sent those in.
ROGER
That’s not what the bank says.
Jill arrives with Frank’s coffee. Frank sips it. Roger continues to read.
FRANK
Your brother said the bank can get confused about these things. Said it’s no big problem. I should just talk to you about it.
ROGER
Here you are, then.
Frank bangs the table with his fist.
FRANK
Why are you having your brother mess with my house?
ROGER
Well, Frank. I was hoping you could help me.
FRANK
Why?
ROGER
Well, if you could help me, I could help you.
FRANK
I won’t put up with this.
ROGER
Then I can’t help you.
FRANK
What do you want from me?
ROGER
Well, I just want you to transport something for us.
FRANK
What is it I’m shipping?
ROGER
Don’t worry. One shipment for us. Then, no more worries.
Frank looks up. He nods, then exits the diner. Roger reads.
